Guest appearance at the BEMUS festival

As part of the 56th Belgrade Music Festival, the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra will perform for the second time, on October 24, starting at 8:00 p.m. at the Kolarac concert hall with the soloist, Russian-Armenian pianist of an impressive career, Eva Gevorgyan, under the direction of the outstanding Armenian conductor Sergey Smbatyan.

Program:

S. Rachmaninov: Concerto for piano and orchestra no. 3, in D minor, Op. 18

D. Shostakovich: Symphony no. 10, in E minor, Op. 93

Although she is only twenty years old, Eva Gevorgyan has performed numerous performances with eminent orchestras, with about seventy renowned conductors with whom she has played music, the greatest of whom are Gergiev, Petrenko, Topčian, Spivakov, Sladkovsky, Liebreich, Foster, Parizotto, Mariotti, Zimmerman, Tigran Haknazaryan, Dmitry Yurosvki. Eva won prizes at over 50 international competitions for piano and composition in the USA, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland and Russia, among others the title of laureate and five special prizes at the Grand International Piano Competition in Moscow. Critics usually praise her emotional expressiveness and believability, as well as her impeccable performance technique.

The concert will be conducted by the outstanding Armenian conductor Sergey Smbatyan, artistic director and principal conductor of the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia and principal conductor of the Malta Philharmonic, and in the current season, principal guest conductor of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. This artist is known in the world as an agile popularizer of classical music. Among his special and unusual ventures, projects with John Malkovich stand out, as well as collaborations with world-famous composers, such as Krzysztof Penderecki, Tigran Mansuryan, Arvo Pert, Gia Kancelli and many other authors. He often conducts the London Symphony Orchestra, but also the Warsaw, Dresden, Slovak and Israel Philharmonic Orchestras, the Radio Prague Symphony Orchestra and the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theater. Sir Colin Davis, with whom Smbatyan studied in London, as well as his later mentors Riccardo Muti and Valery Gergiev, had a great influence on his professional formation.
